Description
Al-Auja River The sources of Al-Auja are located in Ras Al-Ain, where there is water flowing from the surface of the earth through approximately 2000 water eyes. Hence, the Al-Auja River is permanently flowing throughout the year. Before the establishment of Israel and the flow of river water into the Negev, its water was very pure, containing fish and other living creatures, and it was used for drinking and for irrigating the farms and groves along the river. After drawing water and diverting sewage from the Israeli colonies, the river’s water was polluted and became unsuitable for drinking or even swimming.
